4 WEEKS. 4 STEPS.
Choose where to start.
You do not have to do everything. Pick a talk, workshop or challenge that interests you - or maybe the one you would normally skip.
WEEK 01
Know yourself
Notice what interests you, what comes naturally to you and what influences your choices.
TALKS & WORKSHOPS
Get Noticed by Employers
What you will get
Studying in the Czech Republic and looking for an internship, part-time job or your first full-time role? Learn how to build a LinkedIn profile recruiters notice, present experience gained abroad, reach out to recruiters and use AI as a practical LinkedIn tool.
3 SMALL CHALLENGES
Pick one, two or all three. If your week were a movie...
What genre would it be: comedy, drama, road movie, documentary, horror? And why that one?
Go further
What does that genre tell you about how you are doing and where your energy goes right now?
What comes naturally to you?
Think of one thing that feels fairly easy to you, but other people often ask you for help with.
Go further
Ask one person: 'What would you come to me for if you needed help?'
A chance event that changed something
Think of one unplanned thing that moved you somewhere: a person, course, part-time job, video, conversation, mistake or offer.
Go further
What would be different today if it had never happened?
WEEK 02
Explore your options
Look a little further than what you already know.
TALKS & WORKSHOPS
Discover Your Talent: What Makes You Unique?
What you will get
What if your greatest strength is something you do not even recognize as a talent? In this interactive workshop inspired by Gallup CliftonStrengths, you will explore your natural talents, what gives you energy and how your strengths can support your studies, teamwork and future career decisions.
3 SMALL CHALLENGES
Pick one, two or all three.Do one thing differently today
Sit somewhere else. Take a different route. Have lunch somewhere new. Talk to someone you do not usually talk to. Nothing big - just change one detail.
Go further
Did it help you notice something you would otherwise have missed?
Find a job you did not know existed
Find one role connected to your field that you had never heard of before. You do not have to want that job.
Go further
What surprised you about it? What would someone need to know or be able to do to get that job?
One small YES
Say yes to one safe opportunity you would normally pass on. It could be an invitation, event, conversation, lecture, student project or something else.
Go further
What happened because you said yes this time?
WEEK 03
Connect
Careers are shaped not only by plans, but also by people and conversations.
TALKS & WORKSHOPS
LIB 259 - Library
Discover Your Path: What If There Is No Single Right Career?
What you will get
Not sure where your degree should take you? That is not necessarily a problem. Instead of searching for one right job, we will explore the topics, problems and challenges you actually care about. The workshop will help you broaden your view of career possibilities and uncover directions you might never find through a traditional job search.
3 SMALL CHALLENGES
Pick one, two or all three.Find one person
Find someone whose work or career path interests you. It could be an alumnus, expert, CDM speaker, someone at a company, a teacher or someone you already know.
Go further
Learn one thing about how they got where they are today.
Ask one good question
Ask someone about their work or career path. For example: 'What surprised you most when you first started this job?'
Go further
Ask one more: 'What would you do differently today?'
One sentence about yourself
Explain in one sentence what you study and what currently interests you. Not your dream job. Not an elevator pitch. One normal sentence.
Go further
Say it out loud to someone or use it to rewrite the first line of your LinkedIn profile.
WEEK 04
Take the next step
Try something concrete and move a little closer to the world of work.
TALKS & WORKSHOPS
How to Find a Job in the Czech Republic
What you will get
Learn how the local job market works and why the approach that worked in your home country may not work here. We will explain contract types, work permits and paperwork in plain English, introduce key job portals and other places to look for opportunities, and help you improve your CV and LinkedIn profile for Czech employers.
3 SMALL CHALLENGES
Pick one, two or all three.Look under the hood of one job
Choose one job or company that interests you at least a little and find out: What does a normal working day actually look like?
Go further
Try to get the answer directly from someone in the field - maybe at a CDM event.
Take one real step
Choose one option and do something that moves it out of your head. Register. Write. Ask. Join. Send your CV. Set up a meeting. Attend an event. Just one step.
Go further
Write down exactly what you did and what comes next.
What happened?
Think back to the start of CDM. Did you do anything a little differently than usual this month?
Go further
What happened because of it? What surprised you? And what do you want to try next?
ONE SMALL EXPERIMENT
What happens when you do a few things a little differently?
You do not have to complete all 12 challenges. Try a few small changes during the month, then come back to one question: What happened because of them, who did you meet and what do you want to try next?
FINISH CDM. UNLOCK THE NEXT LEVEL.
Get the Career Fair Quest.
At the end of November, complete a short CDM Check-out: tell us which of the 12 challenges you tried and share a few words about what happened. Everyone who completes the Check-out will receive the Career Fair Quest for the next part of the journey through Testival and the CZU Career Fair - and will also enter a draw for 5 university hoodies.
Trying just one challenge is enough. Completing more challenges does not increase your chances - everyone gets one entry. No screenshots or proof required.
COMPLETE THE CDM CHECK-OUTHow can I enter the draw for 5 hoodies?
1. Try at least one of the 12 CDM challenges.
2. Complete the short CDM Check-out at the end of the month.
3. Everyone gets one entry, regardless of how many challenges they completed.
4. We will draw 5 winners of a university hoodie and contact them via their university email.
Everyone who completes the Check-out receives the Career Fair Quest - not only the winners.
Full competition rulesCDM IS THE FIRST STEP
Explore. Practise. Meet. Try.
It does not end in November. The Career Fair Quest will continue from CDM through the next stops and help you turn exploration into a summer experience that adds something to your CV, your network and your life.
