On October 5th, the presentation of the newly established Centre for Counselling and Career Services of the CZU (CCCS) took place on one of the CZU premises at the Chateau Kostelec nad Černými lesy.
Representatives of the Study Affairs Departments and Vice-Deans for Study of all six CZU faculties and the IVP participated in the meeting. The invitation was also accepted by our colleagues from the CIPS and ELSA student counselling centres of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), who presented their long-term experience with counselling services at the CTU.
At the meeting, the structure of CCCS was presented, its development and milestones were outlined, followed by the presentation of the new electronic client records system and the Centre website, which will be a kind of a signpost for students in the field of psychosocial care provided by the CZU.
A part of the afternoon block was dedicated to sharing counselling experience at FŽP and FLD, where this service for students has been available for several years. The colleagues from the CTU showed us how their centres for students with specific needs are organized as well as other forms of counselling in the field of psychological, spiritual care. The fact that the topic resonated across the University was also evident from a very lively discussion that followed the presentations. especially about the care of students with specific needs.
After the meeting has ended, the participants had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the Chateau. The participants agreed that it would be beneficial to meet regularly and share experience and thoughts on that mater. Thus, we intend to regularly follow up on this meeting so that the student support services at CZU worked in a mutual synergy.
